Parliament of Owls was a 2 week online research residency for artists developed by Alexis Williams of Ayatana Biophilium. The focus of the residency concerned artists development concerning the lives of birds. It involved regular video lectures from visiting researchers from all over the world on a variety of subjects, including the lives of pigeons, the bias towards male birds, corvids and many other fascinating subjects. A very special day involved an in situ online event between artists in their local environments introducing the birds in their area. I was lucky enough to be near Seaton Wetlands in East Devon, and was able to share my experiences along artists from Canada, The UK and USA. It was a pleasure to spend time with other artists researching birds and it was a wonderful research and development opportunity in preparation for the up and coming show entitled In the Likeness of Birds in 2023.
